At Rucstall Primary School we all recognise the valuable contribution home learning has towards supporting the education of our children, whilst also wanting to ensure we find time together as families. Parental encouragement is a key factor to raising attainment and fostering a love of learning.
Following feedback from parents and children, as well as from our observations of home learning submissions, we made the decision to streamline home learning in the Summer Term of 2019.
Home learning at Rucstall Primary School is focused on the regular practise of fluency within core curriculum areas. Below is a summary of the home learning expectations for your child. Children will bring this home yearly, with a reminder of their logins. This is different for each Key Stage. You will see that some items will be checked by staff and some monitored online. Other items still support children’s learning, but are not trackable.
As we hope you can see, our home learning is focused on what will help support the children the most. These key skills are those that we feel will support your child’s learning and progress the most, alongside what is done in school.
