Year 4/5 Mixed Football Event

On Monday 17th September a group of children from Years 4 and 5 went to the War Memorial Park to represent Rucstall Primary School.

The children played incredibly well together and won their group with ease; playing 3 games, scoring 9 goals and not conceding any. They then qualified as the best team in the group games where they then received a bye to the Semi-Final. Waiting for them were Park View Jumior school. After a hard fought game the boys unfortunately lost 4-2.

The children continued to show respect and grace in defeat and made sure they shook hands with every other player and wished them luck.

We were all incredibly proud of how the boys presented themselves and their behaviours both on and off the pitch.

We are looking forward to taking as many children out as possible this year to represent the school across a wide range of sports.

KS1 Basingstoke District Football champions

On Friday 27th April, Rucstall Primary school were crowned Basingstoke District Champions for the first time ever! The children played extremely well as a team and because of their spirit and determination, made their way to the final, beating many tough opponents. Throughout the tournament the team only conceded 3 goals in 7 games. We are all very proud of the way that they represented Rucstall Primary School - demonstrating outstanding behaviour and sportsmanship.

Year 5 Boys and Year 5/6 Girls Football Teams

A massive well done to both of our Rucstall football teams who took part in the Basingstoke and District Football Tournements.

The Year 5 boys team did exceptionally well to get out of the group and even qualified for the Quarter Finals; unfortunately, they were beaten 1-0 by Castle Hill who scored in the last minute of extra-time!

The Year 5/6 girls team managed to go one step further than the boys. Not only did they get out of the group and qualify for the quarter finals, they went on and won the quarter finals too! Again though Rucstall were beaten and again by Castle Hill!!

Our Year 6 boys team take part in the same tournament tomorrow - we wish them luck and hopefully go one step further again!!
